Veer Mailbox Relocates to 48th Avenue, Forced to Move From Greenpoint Avenue as Landlord is Selling Building

Feb. 6, 2019, Staff Report

Veer Mailbox, a mail services and shipping center that has been in Sunnyside for 14 years, has moved into a new storefront near the intersection of 44th Street and 48th Avenue.

The owner, Sunil Shah, was forced to move after his previous landlord at 47-01 Greenpoint Ave. informed him that he had to vacate the premises as the building was being sold.

Veer Mailbox opened the doors to its new location at 44-03 48th Ave. on Friday, which formerly housed the Law Offices of Voicu & Nica P.C. The law office moved to Skillman Avenue in December.

Shah’s new storefront offers 180 mailboxes, and will retain all the printing, FedEx, UPS, DHL and USPS shipping, and computer services that Veer Mailbox had previously offered, he said.

“We may have a new address, but we will still offer all the same services that our customers have depended on us for over a decade,” Shah said.

Shah said he notified his previous customers about the move, who greeted the news with a positive response.

They are really off the beaten path now Not much reason for people to be going that way unless your going home. Sorry to see them go from Greenpoint Av

Mr. Shah is awesome and we’re all lucky there was another place in the neighborhood for him to move.

Horrible! All the mom and pop businesses like Petland are leaving Sunnyside. I bet they will make condos in that building. What will we do without Veer. I used to go there when I was a kid to pick up my mail. My parents couldn’t afford a mail box.

ummm thats the whole idea of sprucing up the neighborhood. better to improve than let it become a slum.
