Woodside Woman Charged With Murder

A Woodside babysitter who allegedly shook a baby boy to his death has been charged with murder, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.

Yohani Moran, 37, of 35-47 64th Street was initially charged with felony assault for shaking Dilan Criollo, a nine-month-old baby, to death. Dilan was admitted to the hospital with severe brain and eye injuries and swelling of the brain. He has since died and Moran’s charges were upgraded to murder.

Moran’s case is one of four baby-beatings that have occured in Queens in the past month. Two have led to death.

  • an 8-month-old infant suffers from severe brain damage after being beaten and shaken in Rockaway Beach
  • a 13-week infant was brutally assaulted in a home on Liberty Ave., Queens
