Ramen Noodles Restaurant to Open on Queens Boulevard by November

46-17 Queens Blvd.

Aug. 8, 2018 By Christian Murray

A Japanese ramen restaurant is opening on Queens Boulevard in the location that was previously occupied by Dee Thai.

The restaurant, to be called Fuyu Ramen and located at 46-17 Queens Blvd., is scheduled to open by November, according to its co-owners Steve Oh and Brendan Yun.

The restaurant will offer ramen noodle dishes as well as a variety of Korean and Japanese offerings.

“We are still working on the menu,” Oh said, who has lived on 46th Street in Sunnyside for the past year.

Oh said that he and Yun–who lives in Flushing– decided to open in Sunnyside because they believe the area lacks quality ramen restaurants.

The restaurant will seat about 40 people and the pair have applied for a liquor license.

Meanwhile, two stores over at 46-21 Queens Blvd., a nail salon has opened.

Pink Nails opened Saturday. The salon is owned by Elsa Tirape, a Corona resident who previously worked at Lotus Nails & Spa.

Why can’t we just have a Japanese ramen restaurant? Why do people who know nothing about ramen must also add Korean cuisine or “Korean sushi”? You don’t go to Japanese restaurant for kimchee, chapchae, sundubu-jjigae…especially a ramen restaurant…Japanese need to get their restaurant and ramen game together are rep it hard. I’ve tried Takumi (also Ramen and Korean)- and its crap.

All that keeps opening is more and more Asian restaurants. I hope they seal up all the cracks from all the rodents that put the last place at a grade pending.
Bring next to that abandoned lot for years is not a great location.

A Brooklyn man was indicted by a Queens grand jury on charges of manslaughter, drunk driving and other crimes for a fatal collision in Astoria that killed his long-time girlfriend and mother of their young child in February.

Ray Perez, 27, of Caton Avenue in Flatbush, was arraigned Thursday in Queens Supreme Court on a 13-count indictment charging him with vehicular manslaughter for allegedly speeding through a stop sign in Astoria, colliding with another vehicle and slamming into two parked cars, and then driving nearly four miles away to a street in Maspeth before seeking help for his 29-year-old girlfriend Bridget Enriquez, who later succumbed to her injuries.
