The Woodside-Sunnyside Runners will be holding their annual Community Run for All this Sunday, right before the St. Pat’s for All Parade.
The fourth annual run will take place from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. on March 4, and begin at Skillman Avenue and 49th Street, with the route following much of the parade’s path.
The short, free event is open to all, with the run extending to 2.05 km, the length of an “Irish mile”.
The organizers say experienced leaders will be on hand to help guide children, casual runners, and more experienced runners. They emphasize, however, that no previous running experience is required.
Between 75 to 100 people are expected to show up for the run, according to Ann Sansaricq of Woodside-Sunnyside Runners.
“We want people that wouldn’t normally run to run and meet the group,” Sansaricq said. “It’s about encouraging people to run and introducing ourselves to the community.”
The runners club also invited attendees to march with them in the St. Pat’s for All Parade, which will begin at 2 p.m. after pre-parade speeches, and to join them for the Irish Music Festival bash immediately after the parade.

30 years ago the Irish immigrants had to fight their way up Skillman coming from McGoverns,no victimhood back then.
