The Globe Tavern, located at 49-10 Skillman Avenue, will be hosting a Tom Petty Tribute night and fundraiser Thursday night, with the proceeds going toward training seeing-eye dogs that are used by the blind and visually impaired.
The event is set for Oct. 26 at 8 p.m., where local musicians will sing hits from the late artist. Raffle prizes will be available during the night, with one ticket costing $5.00 and five tickets $20. Drink specials will also be provided.
A $10 donation is suggested for entry, with funds being handled by the Sunnyside/Woodside Lions Club, which will forward the proceeds to Seeing Eye, an organization based in Morristown, NJ that trains guide dogs.
Liz Taylor, a member of the Sunnyside/Woodside Lions Club and organizer for the event, said it costs about $5,000 to raise a guide dog.
The fundraiser to benefit seeing-eye dogs is the first of its kind by the Sunnyside/Woodside Lions Club.

Does the tap beer still taste weird there?
It does. And the big guy who mud sprays the toilet still hangs out there.
Looking forward to throwing back a few Honey Jacks on the rocks with Oran Juice Jones at this event.

Nice, sounds like everyone comes out a winner . Good music , good vibes and a good cause .
this is cool, but whats with the Jimmy Hendrix Flying V graphic, you want a Tom Petty guitar it should be a Rickenbacker
First Tom Petty Album has a fitting V on the cover!
Tom Petty debut album had a Flying V. They used it in their logo for decades.
