A popular bakery chain opened a new location in Sunnyside this morning, offering a variety of baked goods, sandwiches and coffee.
Paris Baguette, a multinational company based in Korea, opened its 14th New York location today at 45-22 46th Street, offering several promotions to celebrate its opening.
The café is giving away a coupon book with every purchase this week and will be giving away lunch bags or coffee mugs this weekend with any purchase over $15.
The menu has a broad offering, including fresh breads, pastries such as croissants, and a large selection of cakes.
It also has brunch and lunch sandwich options, and a large coffee and beverage menu.
The Sunnyside location was occupied by Beauty Feel Supply for 13 years, but it shut down due to slow business in February, making way for the bakery to move in to the neighborhood.
The chain has more than 3,000 locations worldwide and over 50 in the United States, according to a spokesperson for the company.
This is the first Paris Baguette located in western Queens, though there are several in the Flushing and the Bayside area.

WE DO NEED NEW LIFE AS FAR AS BUSINESS HERE IN SUNNYSIDE. WENT IN THE OTHER DAY TO SEE THE PLACE. THEY SELL MOST OF THE STUFF THAT THE SUPERMARKET ACROSS HAS, JUST A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE…doesn’t look (quality) worth the price. $3/croissant.
And the design inside….oooohhhh, how painful.

I LOVE their bakeries. Am so thrilled they’re here!
I went the day after their grand opening and bought two pastries with one cup of coffee and paid about 9. I NEVER received any coupon book.. Also, the prices there are RIDICULOUS for the size of the pastries. A small piece of cake with whipped cream and ONE piece of strawberry costs $8-9 bucks… They jacked up their prices compared to the other Paris Baguette locations. Even the one on Flushing, Main St. is cheaper.

Could someone post what is written (in Korean) on the bottom of these free mugs? Can’t tell if its dishwasher and microwave safe.
It translates as “Not Hibachi-safe”
I’ve been using mine in the microwave since I got it. It’s actually kinda awesome because the handle doesn’t get hot like my previous favorite coffee mug.
It’s dishwasher safe as well; husband hasn’t broken it yet. *sarcasm*
Paris baguette but no whole baguettes for sale!
Pathetic – seems nowhere in Western Queens to find a great baguette. ELI’s Grand Central is exceptional but recently even ELI’s do not have their classic baguettes. BTW, baguettes generally in Paris have gone severely downhill. Best bakeries in the world, including baguettes, I am sorry to say, Germany!
There were baguettes for sale there yesterday, regular and demi-baguettes. Delicious croissants; reminded me of this little bakery in Apgujeong, Seoul.

They not even giving out coupon book!! (False Advertisement) – if you call a piece of paper that is good for a FREE Small coffee/tea with a future purchase.
The coupon book is 6 coupons that you get if you buy $15 or more, which are discounts on their pastries/sandwiches/cakes.

As far as chain bakeries go this place is not very good.
Have eaten numerous times at their store in Manhattan on Lexington Ave. & 52nd St. and must say their soups, sandwiches and personnel will be greatly appreciated here in Sunnyside. Good luck!
Why does this blog allow vile comments to appear but censors simple comments related to the post or comments? Two simple comments never appeared today.
every so often i see comments like yours decrying “censorship” here, but you don’t seem to realize that there is a real person on the other end of this who has other responsibilities and seems to run this site as a labor of love. it just takes some time to approve all the comments.

the paris baguette team represented S Korea in the world baking championships in paris earlier this year and they won first prize. The French were pissed! I am excited to see what they can do.
While they’re good, you know what they can do already. They have stores all over the city. Our store has the same homogenized product offerings. The problem with chains is that they don’t offer anything unique.
I’m not sure I’ve seen one of these before. I spend time in Manhattan & Brooklyn and live here in Queens. Yes, we all know what bakery/coffee shops can do; there’s no mystery there. But this place looks nice, their prices are what I expected, and this sort of store is exactly what we needed on this part of 46th street. It’s amazing how much negativity there is on this site. Thank goodness it’s not really representative of Sunnyside.
No coupon book! only a coupon of free coffee (or tea) valid until 12/4!
They do have a coupon book with 6 coupons with any purchase $15 or more valid until 12/31 only at Sunnyside, which includes: $1 off espresso, 20% off any sandwich, 20% off any salad, 10% off any 1 piece cake, $2 off 1 roll cake/castella, and $3 off any whole cake. I know this because I got my free mug with the $15 purchase today.

I don’t think it’s false advertising at all. There are tons of places selling kosher style food and they are not Jewish. I’ve seen plenty of Italian restaurants not run or owned by Italians and many other restaurants of various other cuisines offered by people not of the same nationality. I see nothing wrong with that at all as long as the food is good. I’ve been to plenty places with crappy food run by the people “of the culture”. And for the record there are plenty of French pastry shops not run by French.
I don’t really care about cultural appropriation, but the face of that franchise is Korean. The money goes to Korea, and I saw the entire store staffed by Koreans. I suspect they think they have a Korean demographic here in sunnyside – which they do. And yes, I’m as liberal as they come. It’s a simple observation of a lack of diversity, in a city as diverse as NY. I just found it funny that it was so obvious.
Korean-Americans work there — you know, your NEIGHBORS. And if you want to cry about corporate $ going overseas, don’t pick on a bakery. EVERY corporation these days sends its $ somewhere else – it’s called corporate inversion, and it has been huge for a long time. Tell your legislators to end it!
How do you know they are not french? There are French Asians.
Is it false advertising when gentiles sell bagels? How about non Italians running Italian restaurants? There is nothing wrong with a business specializing in a particular cuisine or their take on it non matter the race or ethnicity or the proprietor, owner etc. This is a global chain not unlike others like The Olive Garden which was started by General Mills but positions itself as Italian.

While I think their bake goods are decent, I must say that some of their packaged stuff sold in other locations are imported from S. Korea.

I was in here today and it looked really nice. Lots of people were sitting down and everyone looked happy. The bakery and the food looked really good. I will admit that I have never been inside of a Panera but I’ve seen them. This place looked like a nice addition to this part of Sunnyside.

which “mom and pop” stores? the 99cent store or one of the 7 nail salons?
We still have a ton of local business, for once we have a nice place to have a coffee and decent pastry in the neighborhood. Tossi and Aubergine are a joke. The Kitchen serves Nespresso and has horrible service. I challenge you to name another decent coffee shop.
Alpha Donut still has the best “old fashion” donut around…..especially after you taser a gangster from Kansas City ….?
Baruir’s Coffee, Caffe Bene, etc, etc. It’s hard to walk around with only one foot.
Tossy has good coffee, friendly staff, and is locally owned. It’s the best in the neighborhood. On Aubergine and Kitchen coffee, I agree with you. Ave could use better coffee too. I like Paris Baguette and hope they succeed, but their bakery is what makes them good. Their coffee isnt the best and the environment is corporate like Starbucks.

Aubergine has Irving Farm coffee. Love that stuff. And in the morning the bagels are fresh from a good place. It’s dependable.
I would like an actual bakery at some point. Closest good one is Jackson Heights and LIC – Cannelle.
Tossy is made in sunnyisde for real coffee lovers! How you ever taste a REAL COFFEE IN SUNNYSIDE ? AND ROAST THE COFFEE INN ? TOSSY has not competition they are real coffee farmes not a chain and the best thing is from Sunnyside !
