Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is coming to 48th Street near Northern Boulevard.
The popular chain restaurant, which is known for its fried chicken, is ready to open at 32-78 48th St. However, it is waiting to schedule final inspections with the utility companies, according to Fiona Zhang, a representative for the contractor.
The restaurant will open once that process is complete, Zhang said.
Other Popeyes in Queens include one at 89-30 Queens Blvd. in Elmhurst, near the Queens Center Mall and another at 96-23 57th Ave. in Corona, according to the company’s website.
The 48th Street location was previously Color Master Flooring.
The owner could not be reached for comment. Popeyes did not respond to a request for comment.

I’m s glad you have come into my space. Welcome
Let’s all sing the jingle – “LOVE THAT CHICKEN FROM POPEYES!”
Back in the 1980s there was a “Popeye’s” at almost the same location!
PS: the company was not named for the one-eyed cartoon sailor but for the “French Connection” cop, Popeye Doyle (really)
All of a sudden everyone is health conscious. You are all fools. If its so gross, then don’t go in. About to we get some diversity. We need more places to eat like Chipotle, Dos Torros, Pret Manger and more.
I haven’t had it in years. There was one on northern boulevard years ago before they built up the area and they had to put bullet proof glass up because they were getting robbed often.
Greasy disgusting food.
Ack… I’m 3 days into a vegetarian diet to drop tonnage… & now this!
oh thank gawd! there is really no place to get fried chicken around these parts. seriously, they are very welcome here.
Roy Rogers need to make a comeback. They had the only real fried chicken and they were meaty!
By the way, there’s a Popeyes in Jackson Heights on 82nd and Roosevelt Ave.
Forget you guys, now I can walk to a good fried chicken joint in the neighborhood. Awesome!
How am I going between Popeye’s and Sushi X – all you can eat sushi and $3 cocktail for lady
wow, breaking news! the neighborhood is really on the upswing isn’t it??!??! gee whiz cant we get anything better than gross fast food??????
Because the only people who can afford the rent around here anymore are nationally known conglomerates.
You will probably be the first customer.
