The 7 train went down for about 30 minutes between Queens Plaza and 34th Street Hudson Yards this morning due to a rail condition at the Hunters Point Avenue station, according to the MTA.
Although the train returned to service around 9:10 am, riders were still subject to significant delays at noon, according to the MTA website. Click for updates.
Many riders took to Twitter to voice their frustrations, with one displaced passenger noting the lack of Q60 buses to handle the overflow.

It is necessary to maintain the 24/7/365 subway system during off-peak hours, despite a major ridership boost during this time.
“Signal trouble” – standard excuse. I went to 74th and Roosevelt and took the R.

Horrible, horrible service. This happens far too often. They need to run shuttle buses pronto when the service is screwed up which happens far too often.
The shuttle buses get crowded quickly and the fighting starts. It is a mess.
There were delays Sunday morning as well. Announced as both due to an earlier incident, and/or signal problems
30 minutes? Took me 45 minutes from 40th to qbp and that was at 7:30am
This is horrible people trying to get to work and children school and the 7 train again lets us down in all it took me from Sunnyside 1 1/2 hours to get to Grand Central
It seems every monday morning there are extensive delays since the 7 got extended to the west side. I have writen a number of times to the MTA voicing my fustration with their signature bounceback that “someone will get back to me in 10-15 business days” imaging those of us that work in the private sector took that long in getting back to a customer…FIRED….
This nonsense happens every time we come back from a Holiday.
It happens every day!
I’m not paying for this garbage service anymore. The best way to “jump” the turnstile is to actually turn the stile toward you so all you have to do is move around to bars instead of jumping it. Right to Revolt.
