A 40-year old Sunnyside woman was pronounced dead in Rego Park early Monday, just hours after she left the neighborhood.
The woman, according to police, was found dead at 88-04 63rd Drive at 5:32 am. The cause of her death has yet to be determined as the police are waiting for the medical examiner’s report.
Captain Travaglia, commanding officer of the 108 precinct, said Tuesday that the woman had been “socializing” with a man in Sunnyside prior to her death but didn’t disclose any further information.
A witness told police that she had not been feeling well before going to Rego Park.
On Monday morning, shortly after her death, NYPD Detectives canvassed 46th Street between 39th and Skillman Avenue in Sunnyside Gardens. Several residents said that the police had told them that they were on the scene to investigate the death of a 40-year-old woman.
Technicians from a police evidence van gathered photographs.
The woman’s name has not been released. There are no further details at this time.

Most of the articles online about this are the same. They say foul play is suspected and that the victim’s body was found in her own apartment in Rego Park. So what happened in Sunnyside? Is there a murderer on the loose?
