Sunnyside Woman Found Dead in Rego Park, Although Cops Search For Clues in the Gardens

May 26, 2015 By Christian Murray

A 40-year old Sunnyside woman was pronounced dead in Rego Park early Monday, just hours after she left the neighborhood.

The woman, according to police, was found dead at 88-04 63rd Drive at 5:32 am. The cause of her death has yet to be determined as the police are waiting for the medical examiner’s report.

Captain Travaglia, commanding officer of the 108 precinct, said Tuesday that the woman had been “socializing” with a man in Sunnyside prior to her death but didn’t disclose any further information.

A witness told police that she had not been feeling well before going to Rego Park.

On Monday morning, shortly after her death, NYPD Detectives canvassed 46th Street between 39th and Skillman Avenue in Sunnyside Gardens. Several residents said that the police had told them that they were on the scene to investigate the death of a 40-year-old woman.

Technicians from a police evidence van gathered photographs.

The woman’s name has not been released. There are no further details at this time.

newton creek and the surrounding area is probably one of the best places to dump a body, why go elsewhere? Seriously.

@Mary I’m confused by your post.. the article said “The woman, according to police, was found dead at 88-04 63rd Drive at 5:32 am” nothing about being dumped. Or did you mean they were searching Sunnyside for a body? Either way your post is confusing.
