Last Thursday, a consignment/thrift shop opened its doors on Skillman Avenue.

The shop, called Via Classic Emporium, is located at 48-06 Skillman Ave. (at 48th Street), across the street from Stray Vintage and Sea Kiss Boutique.

Proprietors Adriana and Victor Alvarez, a brother and sister team hailing  from Ecuador, sell an eclectic mix of collectible items such as china patterns, silverware, magazines,  furniture,  jewelry and  apparel. Selected apparel will also be sold on a consignment basis.

The Alvarez pair was attracted to the neighborhood by its beauty and cultural richness.
