A Woodside man who shared Internet files of children performing sex acts and, separately, inappropriately touched a young female relative, pleaded guilty to sex crimes charges today, according to the Queens District Attorney’s Office.

Winston Baker, 26, of Woodside, pleaded guilty to “promoting a sexual performance by a child,” after he was arrested in April 2013 for possessing 1,629 illegal images on a shared computer drive, with each image depicting a female between the ages of two and eleven in a sexual manner or performing sexual acts.

Baker accumulated the images between August 10, 2011 and March 29, 2013, according to the District Attorney’s office.

When Baker was arrested on the child pornography charge, he admitted that he had inappropriately touched his nine-year-old female relative between July 1, 2011, and August 31, 2011. He was arrested on that charge in June 2013.

Baker was released on $15,000 bail following his April 2013 arrest on child pornography charges and was out on $20,000 bail following his June 2013 arrest on child endangerment charges.

Baker is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 29, at which time he is expected to receive two to six years in prison following the child pornography case and a concurrent one-year prison term for endangering the welfare of a child.

“It is important for the public to remember that the images being exchanged are, for all intents and purposes, crime scene photos as they depict real children being cruelly victimized both physically and emotionally,” said District Attorney Richard A. Brown in a statement.
