The 56-year-old man who was brutally assaulted in Woodside early Saturday morning has died and the police are now treating the case as a homicide, according to a city official.
Robert Martires was punched in the face by an unknown person in front of 69-04 Roosevelt Avenue at about 12:10 am Saturday. The victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in critical condition at the time.
The police are looking to question a male, Hispanic, in his twenties with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and dark colored baseball cap.

Some readers had forgotten who are the trespassers, robbers and killers in America. Thanks that this country was build by intelligent people who wrote a good Constitution, not by quick-easy thinkers.

They should be stopped and frisked. its not like these people are pillars of the community, I mean you know..you see a bunch of them playing whatever that sport is they play with a net and tiny ball.

Truth, you sound like stop & frisk and paper law supporter and I agree with you. I cannot believe the nonsense that cops do not have the right to ask people for paperwork (ID/lawful status). I think they should just randomly be able to not only stop and frisk but also ask proof of lawful residency but I guess everyone needs cheap labor so they are letting them off the hook.
As for this guy, yes it sucks that they haven’t been able to apprehend the criminals behind any one of the recent crimes. What happened to T-Mobile heist? They just stopped looking for them?
I have an idea, pass a few more pens to 56-year-old’s family, maybe that will help them survive. Police dept that looks after Sunnyside/Woodside is a joke.
If this guy is illegal he is already gone home. That’s what you get with chaos on our southern border. Come here pay no taxes , have kids get snap benefits, send kid to school for free , drive with no insurance, take the American tax payer for a ride. Kill some one and go home

I thought with the nonsense banning stop and frisk, use of terminology like “Hispanic” to describe suspects has been made illegal.
