Tiki Crawl to Take Place on Skillman Saturday

Claret Wine Bar (46-02 Skillman Avenue)

June 5, 2014 By Christian Murray

It’s time to get out the Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts.

A group of bars and restaurants on Skillman Avenue have organized a Tiki-themed pub crawl this Saturday, with the aim of celebrating the arrival of summer and raising funds for the beautification of the Avenue.

The group, known as The Skillman Project, are calling on party-goers to wear beach attire—although it is far from compulsory.

There are eight bars/restaurants participating in the event—and attendees will be offered $3 beers, cocktail specials and Hawaiian-themed food from 3:30 pm until late.

Each bar will be offering its own cocktail specials, with some offering deals on Mai Thais, Greyhounds and even what’s known as the Hair-of-the-Dog.

The restaurants will each serve their own beach-themed food—with items such as Hawaiian pizza, oysters, shrimp and jerk chicken sandwiches in the works.

To partake in the festivities, attendees are required to register at Quaint Bistro (46-10 Skillman) between 3 pm and 5 pm, and buy a $5 wristband. The wristband is needed in order to get the $3 beers at all eight restaurants/bars.

Participating bars are: Dog and the Duck, Claret Wine Bar, Flynn’s Garden Inn, Quaint Bistro, Murphy’s Lobster Grill, The Brogue, Aubergine Cafe and The Copper Kettle.

lame. hawaiian pizza is what fat white tourists eat at resorts. complete with the overweight and (once again) drunk sunnyside santas in grass skirts makes for sad scene.

im no expert on Hawaii but Im sure they have more to offer than the usual stereotypical things listed with this event.
