Police are searching for a man wanted for a string of bank robberies–including one in Sunnyside.

The man has struck three times since late October–with one in Auburndale, Sunnyside and Astoria, according to police.

The suspect’s modus operandi is to give tellers a note demanding cash.  In two of the three incidents his work bore fruit.

On Oct. 25, the suspect entered a Flushing Savings Bank in Auburndale and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.

The same man entered the Chase Bank in Sunnyside on Nov. 25 but was unable to get any money. An hour later, he entered another Chase Bank on 30th Avenue in Astoria and made off with about $3,000 in cash, police said.

The suspect was captured on surveillance footage and was last seen wearing a black ski cap, black jacket, eyeglasses and carrying a black backpack, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).

This is such a “Blue Collar” crime. He’ll have better luck with Identity Theft and or opening a Bank… or becoming a politician.

“The suspect’s modus operandi is to give tellers a note demanding cash. In two of the three incidents he bore fruit.”

Seems you were itching to use “modus operandi.”

The “he bore fruit” should read ‘his work bore fruit.” Still, a little flowery for journalism.

Am I wrong?
