Bar 43, the pub/restaurant located at 43-06 43rd Street, might be expanding.
The popular sports bar has the opportunity to take over the space that was occupied by Sunnyside Meat Market, its former neighbor that relocated Saturday to a store around the corner.
“We are talking to the landlord about taking over the space,” said Nick Murphy, a co-owner in the pub.
Sunnyside Meat Market has been located at 43-10 43rd Street for 30 years. It is moving into the space that the Sunnyside Market, located at 42-08 43rd Avenue, had used for its sandwich/deli space.

Bloom’s was charming with the most beautiful woodwork. Food was good but I didn’t like the fact that they did not enforce the smoking ban. Had to leave a dinner half-eaten to escape the smoke.
Interesting! I saw construction within Sunnyside Market (the non-meat one), but I had no idea they were walling it off completely and putting a separate business in there. I thought that deli area was pretty new. I hope they’re doing well!
Looks like the makings of a mega-bar.
Does anyone else miss the old Blooms where the Dunkin’ Donuts is now?
Great news,win win.
Good news when local businesses are investing in the neighborhood.
Sounds good. Everybody wins.
As long as the Sunnyside Meat Market isn’t going away completely I’m okay with this. I love Sunnyside Meat Market! And Bar 43!
