In celebration of Easter, Christians from Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church were joined by parishioners from All Saints Church, Sunnyside Reformed Church and Grace Fellowship yesterday in the reenactment of the Good Friday Crucifixion.
About 600-800 were part of the service that took place on Skillman Avenue.

Great to see that Faith in God and goodness is alive and well in Sunnyside
Thank you Queens of Angels for an absolutely moving Lenten season this year – my spirit is renewed once again
Many thanks to Pat Dorfman for her excellent coverage of this event. It was an event that moved many and was carried out with dignity. Also the universality of our neighborhood was clearly in evidence.
It was wrong for the Board of Ed to ban religious groups from meeting in schools on the weekends when school is not in session.
The stations of the cross were done in different languages, which was interesting–english, spanish, and tagalog, for sure, with three different protestant pastors with the roman catholic priest. i agree with just looking. everyone free to do their spiritual thing, a soprano amplified and a nice sunny day on skillman.
It’s ok to hold a religious event on a public street in full view of everybody but not for a religious group to rent a public school hall for a service that is behind closed doors.
Yeah, that makes sense.
So glad to see the free practice of religion in public.
