Employees at the Sunnyside branch of GameStop got a tough dose of reality Thursday.
Around 11 a.m., a man entered the 47-21 Queens Blvd store allegedly carrying a silver firearm covered by a newspaper, police said. The perpetrator then displayed the weapon to an employee and went around the back of the counter to steal property and cash.
The man failed to obtain anything and then fled the video-game store on foot.
The police describe the man as white, around 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds.

JulieJ. I don’t think so, I think it is getting let loose. There is not enough law enforcement in the area, I rarely see a partrol car, and FORGET about the cops walking around doing daily runs (other than looking for cars to write tickets to) Really, it is not in line with the increase in population in our neighborhood.
The ‘hood is getting dangerous.
How hard is it to track him with the cameras outside? Which way did he walk? Was he on foot or did he have a vehicle waiting for him outside? Did he even have a mask on? Sounds like some angry customer whose young son or daughter got ripped off by Game Stop when he traded his games for $3 which his dad bought for $60.
And they didn’t even try to steal a video game? Robbery fail!
/good for Gamestop though!

This is awful. I know crime is going up – I don’t care what the cops say.
