Police were still searching for a suspect in connection with a homicide that left a 62-year-old man strangled in the bathtub at his Woodside apartment, a police spokesman said Thursday night.
The body of Wayne Graves was discovered by his superintendent at his apartment at Berkeley Co-op Towers Section II, at 52-40 39th Dr. on October 19. Police found Graves lying in the bathtub with severe head trauma.
Police have been searching for the suspect since October 20, who they believe has fled the Queens area. The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years old and approximately 5-feet, 9-inches tall, with a medium build.

It does seem the commodification of our neighborhood has brought a great many more strangers through here, but it is early to tell whether this is a result of that or a more personal issue.
When there is a doorman, aren’t visitors supposed to sign in? The Berkeley Towers are very expensive. It is probable that the culprit is out of state and has other aliases. This is awful. I hope the police get him. For a long time I have felt that the neighborhood was becoming more dangerous.
The Berkeley Towers? Don’t they have doormen in those buildings? They should have a better lead than this.
