Jimmy Van Bramer sent out a letter to his supporters today thanking them for their help in winning the District 26 Democratic primary. Van Bramer beat Deidre Feerick, the race favorite, by 571 votes.
Dear Supporter,
Thanks to all of your hard work and support we won yesterday’s Democratic Primary! It was a hard-fought election and it took an incredible amount of work by so many friends, neighbors and volunteers, but your efforts paid off and I’m deeply grateful for all of your help.
For all of you who volunteered your time throughout the course of the campaign by knocking on doors, making a donation or lending your name to a dear neighbor letter, I am truly touched by your contributions. I’m really looking forward to improving our neighborhoods and working to meet the needs of the community.
I cannot express sufficient gratitude to our friends in organized labor who put a fantastic amount of energy into this race and I’m humbled by all of the men and women who enthusiastically came out to volunteer. I can’t wait to be able to tackle the issues that we all care about.
I would also like to salute all of my former opponents for their hard work and for the important issues they brought to the table.
Now it’s on to the general election on Tuesday, November 3! I’ll be in touch again shortly but for now thank you again for everything. We made history yesterday – an accomplishment that could not have happened without you.
Best,
Jimmy
