Condolences to the family. I heard something about a cigarette from a neighbor but don’t know if it is true.
When FDNY makes details available, what would be useful is to know the the cause of the fire, whether this apartment was legal (and if not, then there are questions a blog is well-positioned to ask), were there smoke detectors, etc. It is likely too soon to expect this information to be available, but that would be far more valuable to the community than seeing the actual room in which the man probably died. It’s a bit too taboid for my taste.
I am shocked and disgusted that a photo of the inside of the apartment where this man died was posted.
Looks like a small one bedroom apt. Shame someone died. Too late now wonder if they had a smoke detector. I hope his family reads this web site . they would know we feel sorry for their loss.
Very sad. My condolences to his family.
