The Sunnyside Farmers Market will reopen on Saturday June 4th and run every Saturday from 8am – 3pm through December 24, according to its organizers.
The Sunnyside market, which is located on Skillman Ave (between 42nd and 43rd streets), is one of the most popular and successful markets, according to Margaret Hoffman of Greenmarket, GrowNYC.
Hoffman said all of the farmers who attended last season are planning to return this year. If space permits, one additional farmer will be permitted to attend.
The farms that will attend are: Merediths Bakery, Ballards honey, Gajeski Produce, Gill’s Seafood, Gonzales Farm, Knoll Krest Farm, Red Jacket Orchard, Nolasco Farm, W. Rogowski Farm, Breezy Hill Orchard, Rising Sun farm, Millport Dairy and King Ferry Winery.
The farmers will be accepting EBT and Debit and Credit again this year.

I think it needs more space. It pales in comparison to the union square market, but it’s still nice to have here in the neighborhood. Using the grade school’s yard between 40th and 41st would consolidate it, and give more room for expansion. Besides, nobody uses that space on the weekends.
Can’t wait! I didn’t know they accepted credit/debit cards last year, but good to know!
@Sunnygripe–HA HA HA HA HA. But it would be organic yogurt! 🙂
Maybe we’ll get the market year-round if we support it enough. Jackson Heights is all-year now.
And I know Susan likes her tomatoes. I love the gala apples. mmmm…..
I wish it would open right now – we’re missing out on asparagus season!
Good idea, Susan. Think they’ll sell non-fat yogurt at the Farmer’s Market? 😉
The Traffic Department should be alerted to change the street signs on 43rd Ave., which provide for No Parking on Saturdays starting in July.
I must add: bring on the tomatoes!!!! I hope it’s a good year for them. Last year was excellent; the year before, not.
Now I’m having a “Seinfeld” moment, and I’m thinking everyone who goes to the market should wear name tags.
YES!!! Love the fishmongers scallops!!!
Woohoo!
That’s GREAT news.
I am so glad to hear this.
Seems like there is space along 43rd Street (going north) to add vendors.
