A Queens woman who owned a Woodside real estate firm and scammed 28 prospective tenants out of nearly $95,000 was sentenced last month to 3-years probation–and is required to repay all her victims.

Rosita Tsiklauri, a 48-year-old College Point resident, operated Fast Solutions Realty out of 47-20 48th Avenue, where she duped prospective tenants out of thousands in cash, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.

Tsiklauri’s firm collected deposits, fees and rental payments on apartments that were not available.

She would often show the same apartment to prospective tenants and ask them for cash payments to cover the deposit and first month’s rent. She would then tell her victims that the apartment was suddenly taken and pocket the cash.

In cases where she did refund her prospective tenants, the checks either bounced or her bank account was frozen.

She was arrested last year at JFK Airport after returning from the Ukraine. She was charged with second-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-and-fourth degree grand larceny, first degree scheme to defraud and issuing a bad check. She faced up to 15 years in prison.

At the time, Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown said: “This case sadly represents an all too common scenario in which an allegedly greedy realtor is accused of taking advantage of Queens County’s tight housing market to rob unsuspecting individuals.”

However, she was sentenced June 20 to 3-years probation on the single charge of grand larceny in the fourth degree. She agreed to pay the 28 victims she bilked—-via a confession of judgement, according the District Attorney’s office.

The timeline of when the payments have to be made was not disclosed. However, according to the DA’s office, Tsiklauri is in the process of selling her home to make restitution.

A suspicious person illegally possesses an apartment for 6 years!

Rosita together with a person who called himself Manuel , possessed the apartment on Cornelia Street, Ridgewood, NY illegally. The broker let Manuel move in without telling the owner, without getting approval from the owner, and without paying the owner. when the owner asked, the broker just told the owner that she let Manuel move in. She forced the owner accept Manuel , but did not give the owner any identification and qualification of Manuel. Owner did not want Manuel stay, because the owner did not have any document about Manuel, Manuel did not even sign the lease, but Manuel already moved in without owner’s approval, Manuel moved in and changed the lock, Owner had no other choice, told Manuel to move out in certain time, Manuel agreed, but when time came, Manuel refused to move. Now Manuel still lives there. He refused to show his ID, and refused to sign the lease.

Senior citizens for trump

I’m very happy she got off. The people in sunnyside are stupid. Who gives a deposit without having the key. Idiots. Too many pot heads.

Fake, come up with your own name. I agree with what you say but you’re a fake.

Totally agree. People like this should do some time. Maybe the da had trouble putting together solid evidence for trial?

Shame on our justice system. Prisons are only there for the poor. Thank God there is a God who has no respect of person!

Does this dreadful excuse of a human being at the very least get her passport taken from her and one of those lovely and fashionable ankle bracelets placed on her until she pays these people back,oh and don’t you worry people, because while she might not be going to prison there is a special place for her like in hell, along with the child molesters and the elephant poachers!

I agree, 3 years probation,,what’s that?? Jail time should have been the sentence. I hope they took her passport away so she can’t leave the country!
Shows how the system doesn’t work! Would love to see the proof of her still having $95,000 to even pay back all the people she scammed!

She scammed a property management company I worked with on two occaisions and several others too. A mere slap on the wrist for multiple offenses.

Whoa! Slow DOWN, “Anonymous”! “Truth is NOT an “Idiot.” She merely suffers from Idiocy…..a condition that will someday respond to invasive surgery or improvised explosive devices

If some kids swipe a purse from a laundromat, they’re called thugs that go to jail.

This woman steals $95,000 and gets a slap on the wrist.

Typical

But maybe because, with her OWN home, there was a REAL chance of RESTITUTION. People would rather “be made whole” again than to just JAIL their thief.

Luck of the Draw. Why does one gal get a week’s House Arrest and her boyfriend loses his car and Steinway grand piano to a Civil Forfeiture decree promulgated by a corrupt district-attorney?

I agree. This is merely a slap on the wrist for someone who actively and knowingly schemed and scammed. There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to get an apartment in New York, save for trying to get an apartment in teeny tiny Sunnyside, so this woman messed with people’s money and their hopes.
