Dec. 28, 2012 By Christian Murray

The police have identified the man who was killed last night after being pushed in front of a Queensbound No. 7 train by a disturbed woman.

Sunando Sen, a 46-year old immigrant from Calcutta, India,, was pushed in front of the train by a heavy set Hispanic woman in her 20s at about 8pm, the police said. He was struck by the train and pinned below the second car, as the woman fled down the 40th Street station steps and onto Queens Blvd.

The New York Daily News reported that Sen had been in the U.S. for the past 20 years and lived in Corona, in an apartment with at least two roommates.

Sen’s shocked roommate Ar Suman, told the New York Post. ‘I can’t believe this right now.’

Suman said that the 46-year-old, who was single and childless, had just opened a copy shop, the New Amsterdam Printing Co, with another man on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

‘My heart is broken because this guy was so nice and quiet,’ added Sen’s other roommate, Md Khan.

On Friday, Sen’s business partner was trying to reach the victim’s relatives in India to deliver them the bad news.

The police released a sketch of the woman and a grainy tape of her fleeing the 40th Street subway station.

The police are offering a $12,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this murder.

The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

Earlier reports were that her relatives called the police last night after recognizing her from the video. Now the report is that a passerby recognized her. Either way, sounds like the 108th should not get credit for this arrest. Earlier a poster posted a link to her mug shot from a prior arrest …in the 108th. That means she was known to the 108th. I hope her previous arrest ad conviction records are released.

Call me a bit skeptical, but I’ll believe a real mugshot when I see one released from an official source; not some random person’s facebook.

According to the NY Post the police know who the woman is and are looking for her in shelters. I hope they get her and fast. I feel so sorry for this man and his loved ones.

Great point 86, but he might have friends in the area, he might have also stopped by to pick up something, visit some of the local shops, etc.. Either case, like you said that woman needs to be caught ASAP. Apparently she can run, and she knew where she was running to. You mean there are no other cameras in the area, at all?

The victim worked in Manhattan and lived in Corona so he must have had some reason to be in Sunnyside. There are no other train lines that connect at 40th/Lowery. Perhaps that might shed some light on the case. Either way, that psycho bitch needs to be caught asap.

The woman may not necessarily be Hispanic….She could have Hispanic features, but be from his culture….she could be from Malaysia ,Nepal or from that area and look Hispanic from her pigmentation of her skin. The sketch doesn’t even look hispanic. Just saying. Hope they don’t waste time looking with a closed mind and think open minded and all possibilities. There has to be more to this story that will develop if they ever find her.
This is very sad, that you go about your business and not know if you will return home. May he rest in peace.
