Verizon Store to Open Under Sunnyside Arch Late January

Work being done for the upcoming Verizon store at 46th Street.

Jan. 11, 2018 By Nathaly Pesantez

A Verizon store will open on 46th Street just under the Sunnyside arch later this month.

The cell phone store is currently redecorating the space at 45-06 46th St., which was previously occupied by the pop up vintage shop, Violet’s Volition and Bliss.

Eugene Choe, the owner of the upcoming Verizon shop, said he expects to open in two weeks time.

Choe, 50, is also the owner of the current Verizon authorized retailer store around the corner at 45-18 Queens Blvd., which opened more than 10 years ago.

“It’s too small over here,” Choe said about the Queens Boulevard location. “Over there its twice as big. It’s a visible area.”

Choe plans on turning the Verizon store on Queens Boulevard into a cell phone and tablet repair and accessories shop. He said it would take another month to make the changes.

Disgusting. The landlords here do not care about the communities wants and needs. Can’t wait to see what big-name store takes over Bings. The “small town in the big city” vibe is dying quickly.

Point of information. The store is not owned by Verizon or a large business. It’s an independent small business that is an authorized retailer of Verizon products not Verizon corporate.

you can never have enough cell phone stores. i mean, i buy $1000 cell phones weekly, just like bread and milk! every store needs to be a cell phone store!

With all these complaints about the type of store it is, just be happy the store space is no longer vacant.

This isn’t a new store, just an existing store that’s moving to a new location from around the corner. Did you even read the article?

It doesn’t say the other one is closing. We apparently need two cellphone stores on every block.

It says the other one will be a repair center for tablets and phones. It’s still an independent business offering a local service. If you want different sorts of stores open one!
