Police Still Searching for Suspect Involved in November Cricket-Bat Beating, Robbery, in Woodside

The NYPD is still searching for a suspect who was allegedly part of a robbery months ago that included beating a man with a cricket bat and stealing cash from his pockets.

Police have identified Azal-Hamed Rubel as a suspect in the Nov. 10 incident, where a 35-year-old man was yanked out of his parked car at the corner of 61st Street and 37th Avenue by two men and assaulted with a cricket bat, police said.

The two men then removed approximately $100 from his pockets, police said.

Rubel, who is seen in the photograph obtained by the NYPD via social media, is described as Asian and approximately 5’8”.

One of the two males involved in the incident was arrested on Dec. 1, according to police.

You know everyone from Asia doesn’t look like they’re from China, Korea or Japan right? This suspect is obviously either Bengali or Indian, that is South East Asia. Are you trying to imply that he is Latino and lives on 64th or 65th street?!
