Dec. 13, 2017 By Nathaly Pesantez

A police officer was sent to the hospital after a man drove into the officer’s car Wednesday morning, police said.

The incident happened at around 9:57 a.m. today, when a man driving a black BMW committed a traffic infraction and rear ended a police cruiser at 44th Street and 43rd Avenue in Sunnyside, a NYPD spokesperson said.

The BMW driver fled the scene, and ditched the car a few blocks from the incident on 41st street between 50th Avenue and Queens Midtown Expressway, the NYPD spokesperson said.

The police officer was transported to the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell for neck and back pain, according to the spokesperson.

Police are still searching for the suspect, who is described as white and in his 30s, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said the agency is waiting on police at the scene to confirm if the suspect is armed.

Why are people saying it’s a stolen car? Is it so hard to believe that someone in Sunnyside can own this car?

Thanks for not reporting him, until now, idiot. If you personally know him, you must be either dealing with him or his supplier.

The police chase actually happened around 8:45 dude blew through the parking area under the 7 going more than 60mph trying to evade police. Car is always parked around the park on Greenpoint Ave, wouldn’t be suprised if he was dealing.
