New Diner to Open in February at Former Foxy’s Diner Location

Work being done at 43-11 Queens Blvd., the future site of Boulevard Diner.

Jan. 18, 2018 By Nathaly Pesantez

A new diner will be opening its doors in weeks time at the former site of Foxy’s Diner, the eatery that quietly ended its 10-year-run over the summer.

Boulevard Diner, the name of the new business at 43-11 Queens Blvd., is set to open the second week of February, according to owner Kostas “Gus” Pavlakos.

“It’s like a coffee shop,” Pavlakos said. Staples like egg platter breakfasts, hamburgers, and sandwiches will be served at the shop. A dinner menu will also be available.

Pavlakos is also working on obtaining a beer and wine license for the locale.

The diner is expected to operate from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.

Boulevard Diner joins the small number of diners in the area, including Alpha Donuts, Pete’s Grill, and New York Style Eats.

by the name of the owner it sounds as if he has his thinking cap on…previous owners didn’t realize that breakfast specials come with toast…..they charged extra…….or french toast on whole bread was like asking them to build clock….

Yes! Diners are always welcome. Some requests:
1) Omelettes that aren’t over-cooked like many (almost all) NYC diners do.
2) Do delivery on Seamless, but don’t charge some extra delivery fee like Pete’s does
3) Creamed Chipped Beef on Toast – come on, it’s great.
4) Affordable Bacon Egg and Cheese
Woohoo! Welcome!

I know where foxy’s got their delicious 7 layer cake. I hope you do, too… and also I hope the decor is less depressing… green and brown and fake boulders. Ugh. Think light yellow, white, plants, wicker / natural materials / wood…

Because they use cheap flat grills (all day long without cleaning) for omelets instead of stainless steel pans ( Because dishwashers cost over $0.25 for each cycle). Also they scratch the surface and seasoning omelets with metal pieces like Halal Food carts…
