Poorly maintained apartments, unfair late charges and confusing bills– are among the many accusations leveled at the Queens landlord Vantage Properties in the past two years. Vantage Properties, a residential real estate company that owns many buildings in Sunnyside and Woodside, removed 14 superintendents from buildings it owns and replaced them with 24-hour call in numbers. The reason: cost cutting.
But tenants were upset because Vantage failed to respond when tenants called in with repairs and other concerns. The following is the latest development.

There are many Vantage Properties in Sunnyside and Woodside. For the most part, the company has taken poorly-maintained buildings and upgraded them. In doing so, the neighborhood looks the better for it. However, many Vantage tenants claim the refurbishments are a mechanism to lift rents and kick them out.
