Dog is Found

The Siberian Husky that was listed on this site a few days ago has been found, thanks to an e-mail sent in by a reader. Steve Nemeth, from Sunnyside, who had the dog met with the Elmhurst-based owner yesterday and gave the lady her dog. Thanks to the reader who sent in the e-mail.

Pediatric Dentist Comes to Neighborhood

A pediatric dentist is about to open at 43-12 43rd Street (betw. Queens Blvd. and 43rd Ave). The sign went up today.  

Psychic didn’t see it coming

A psychic on Greenpoint Ave. (between 46th and 47th Sts.) has gone out of business. The store was shut down by an order of the landlord. This is the second psychic that has gone out of business in Sunnyside this year. The other was on 44th Street (btw. Queens Blv. and 43rd Ave.).

Associated Expands, Key Food doesn’t

The Associated on Greenpoint Ave. is expanding its store. Bank of America progresses

After a nine month delay, Bank of America is finally making steps toward opening. The delay was caused by the bank’s difficulty in obtaining permits, one worker told me.

Marmara Restaurant Closes

Marmara, a Turkish seafood restaurant that was opened in 2007 on 39-17 Queens Blvd., has been shut down for good for failing to pay its rent.

Sunny Side Market reopens

 Just one day after being shut down for selling alcohol to minors, the Sunny Side Market has reopened. The owner was upfront about want happened, saying that a worker sold beer to someone under the age of 21. The owner said the store is still able to sell alcohol, just that it will be more vigilant in checking IDs.

Closed for Selling to Minors

The Sunny Side Market on 43rd Ave. (btw, 42nd and 43rd St.) was shut down by a court order. The violation was for selling alcohol to minors. The fruits and vegetables were starting to rot.

Arrest for ‘Traffic Violation’

A man was arrested this morning on 43rd street between Queens Blvd. and 43rd Ave. next to a black limousine. The police’s explanation for the arrest: “It’s a traffic violation.” Was this theft? “No, who would want this piece of sh.t” Further will come after contact with police.

Stability in Woodside and Sunnyside

Stray Cats come to Sunnyside

The SaveKitty Foundation, a New York-based cat rescue group, is showcasing some of its abandoned kittens today– outside Super Doggy Wonder Kitty on 43rd Street (by 43rd Ave).
