Graffiti hits Tree in Gardens

Graffiti bandits have sprayed a tree on 44th Street in the Gardens with purple paint.
The oak tree is not in any danger, but it shows that some of these vandals will not stop at anything. While the entire area is targeted by these bandits, this is the first time we have seen a tree targeted.

Graffiti Clean Up Day

More than a hundred volunteers from the Sunnyside community, wearing torn clothes and workmen’s shirts, turned out on Saturday to attend this Fall’s graffiti clean up day.

Woodside Graffiti Vandal Jailed!

A Woodside graffiti vandal was sentenced to six months jail following a subway tagging spree, according to the Daily News April 23.
The graffiti “artist” and Fashion Institute of Technology student has caused $100,000 in damage worldwide, including the tagging of the MTA subway cars.
Danielle Bremner pleaded guilty to a felony criminal mischief charge and was sentenced in Manhattan Criminal [...]

Sunnyside United Neighborhood Network (SUNN)

SUNN is a non-profit group that aims to beautify the neighborhood through graffiti removal.
It organizes spring and fall events where about one hundred residents go out and clean up the graffiti in the neighborhood. Residents also are given the paint and equipment to clean graffiti all-year round.
