On Saturday, February 23, from 5-9 p.m. friends of Francine Wheeler, whose son Ben was killed in Newtown, are hosting a fundraiser for the Ben Wheeler Fund. The event will take place at Sunnyside Community Services, 43-31 39th Street, just three blocks from the 7 train. This will be a fun, family event featuring Music for Aardvarks music, the fabulous children’s singer, Richard Younger, a magician, face painting, food and a monster raffle. Local Sunnyside bands will also perform. Tickets are $15 for food, $15 for drinks, $25 for both. Children 6 and under are free, those over 6 are $5. All proceeds will go to the immediate expenses of the family. The Wheelers lived in Sunnyside for years before moving to Newtown.
