A new threading and waxing business is expected to open on Greenpoint Ave. in two weeks.
The awning went up in the past week and construction workers are in the final phase of completing the salon. They are currently working on the private treatment rooms.
This site was most recently used by Mayor Michael Bloomberg as part of his successful re-election campaign.

Directly across the street from the Woodside Pharmacy is a Duane Reade, a big-box, modern-looking drug store. Naturally, the question is how is an independent drug store like The Woodside Pharmacy going to survive.

Just when Sunnyside appeared to be saturated with 99 cent stores, yet another one has opened.
Two weeks ago, a 99 cent store opened its doors on the border of Sunnyside/Woodside at 49th Street and Roosevelt Ave.

A Subway sandwich store and an “express grocery” are opening up on 44th and Queens Blvd., taking over the large retail space that Welcome Mart had occupied before it abruptly closed two weeks ago.
