Woodside Shooting Outside Bowling Center

A retired city correction officer working security at a Queens bowling alley was arrested Saturday after he shot two rowdy customers during a wild fight, police said.

Sunnyside Doctor Arrested for Tax Evasion

A Sunnyside doctor was arrested for failing to file tax returns.
Avelino Rosales, a Cedarhurst resident who operates his practice out of 41-21 Greenpoint Ave., was charged with failing to file tax returns from 2002 to 2006, according to the Nassau County District Attorney.
He is charged with repeated failure to file personal income taxes, an E felony. [...]

Crime Drops in Woodside, Sunnyside, LIC

Crime dropped more than 10 percent during a mostly quiet year for police in the 108th Precinct, which covers Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside.
All major crimes either remained at 2008 levels or declined with the exception of rapes. The number of rapes jumped 55 percent to 14.
