  1. Losing a child like this is a tremendous horrible loss. Out of curiosity, why do they need money? This is a valid question as there is probably still a bread winner in the family. Cover funeral expenses is valid… but still.

  2. Craic dealer,
My friends and I have asked each other the same question. The family was well off enough to own a home in Sunnyside Gardens and then move to an expensive town in Ct. I doubt that they are hard up for money. One of the explanations was for the life long care of their remaining child….. but they would have been responsible for that anyway. I am not sure what this is about. I assume that it is just a way for Sunnysiders to feel like they are doing something.

  3. THe Wheelers never owned a house in Sunnyside Gardens. They lived in a rental apartment on the south side of town.

  4. So I guess regardless of owning or rent (although apparently very important to sort out) they don’t really need the money… Burying you own child is indeed unthinkable. Asking for money… aaaahhh is coming off really tacky. Regardless I still send them all good energies and a sound recovery as much as possible.

  5. i’m not sure the wheelers are asking themselves. i would imagine the idea is, or at least began as an act of kindness. the thinking being, no one should have to bury a child at all, let alone like this, so we can at least pay for it for them. after that, we can pay for their therapy and counseling. whatever’s left may be used at their discretion. i agree it’s about feeling useful. why not? offer what comfort we can.
