Colombian restaurant to open on Greenpoint Ave (47th)
A Colombian eatery is moving into 46-26 Greenpoint Ave., the space that was previously occupied by Manolo’s.
The restaurant, to be called Los Verdes, is part of a chain based in Florida. The restaurant chain’s Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/LosVerdesUSA
Los Verdes will be taking over the space that has been vacant since July 2010, when Manolo’s abruptly closed after police arrested the owners for cocaine dealing.
Food looks like amazing stoner food. Perfect for our hipster community.

I heart Colombian food but gosh darn it we have a lot of places! Personally, I was hoping for like a Payless or mom and pop shoe store.
How is commercial real estate marketed in Sunnyside? It seems like if the landlords banded together in a sort of BID, they’d be better able to market our area to a more diverse set of business owners.
