Half price pizzeria?
This pizza store owner appears to be getting burned by his competition.
The owner of Singas Famous Pizza, located at 43-24 Greenpoint Ave., put the business up for sale in August for $200,000, according to an ad placed with the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island.
However, as of this week, the pizzeria is on the market for $100,000.
Singas is operating in a section of Sunnyside where there are several pizzerias. Lenny’s Pizza, which opened 2 years ago, is across the street at 44-04 Greenpoint Ave. Meanwhile, the popular Marabella’s is located down the street, at 41-07 Greenpoint Ave.
The ad for Singas says that the business brings in “Total Income: $358,000.”

Does that price include the car out front?
I mentioned this the last time there was an article on Singas. The owner, or whoever put out the sign, can’t possibly be selling a business with an “income” of $358K for $100K. That’s fire sale, have to get out of town with all the cash I can stuff in a suitcase, price. The buyer would make his money back in under four months. If it’s revenue of $358K then $100K makes more sense. It still begs the question regarding margins, etc.
Welcome to Obama’s America, where family run American businesses aren’t welcome.
Take the “sing” out of this pizza parlor and you know what you get? Frozen re-warmed pizza. Who wants that? The owner should just sell the biz at cost and get out.
they should all get on their knees and give praise to the only pizza Gods of this town over at Sunnyside Pizza. This is like when Gretzky came and took over the NHL leaving all the others in the dust.
Marabella used to be good until those two guys left a few years ago.

I wish Sunnyside Pizza would open a south side outlet.
just moved from sunnyside, and while there’s tons I miss about the neighborhood already, the local pizza scene is definitely not on that list!
We need a good bagel joint!
How often can you eat pizza?
Hey Rick, we already have a hand-made bagel store on QB; are you suggesting that it would be wise for someone to open a second bagel joint? Or don’t you like those bagels (they’re ok, I think. Better than supermarket but not as good as H&H. Personally, I wish we had a store that sold good seeded rye, but bagel-eating population in this part of Queens ain’t what it used to be.
As for pizza, Lenny’s is pretty good, and although the space is too large, it feels like a pizza parlor (unlike Singa’s, which is more like a waiting room.) In spite of our multicultural world, pizza requires a splash of Italian somewhere, even if it’s just a map of Naples on the wall (or an actual Italian person making the pie.) Singa’s is not traditional and therefore doomed to be under-appreciated.
