  1. how the hell do you get hit by a train. did the train go off the track and on to the platform? why was this guy leaning out soo far that a train was able to hit him

  2. Ruben blaming this on yuppies & hipster is 3, 2, 1…

  3. I’m sorry Linda. I don’t mean to sound rude but are you ‘special’ or can you just not read?

  5. Linda, he says that people witnessed him jump. Can you read?

  6. now it says he jumped and they also have a picture. when i posted the first comment they didn’t have that. so roy please if your gonna bad mouth people and not comment about the story at hand dont even comment

  7. Linda, it says at the end of the article that
Witnesses saw the guy jump. Maybe you should
    Have read the WHOLE thing.

  8. “Many people claimed that they saw the victim jump in front of the train.”

I had no “doo-doo mouth”. Please don’t be so culturally insensitive as to try to make light of my surname. Yes it may sound ‘humorous’ to one such as yourself but we Doodieheads are a proud people who have done a great deal in their long history. You have embarrassed yourself twice fair lady. As we Doodieheads are excessively kind I will preforgive you.

  9. Hi,

The story was updated over the course of 5 to 10 minutes. Perhaps the story should have stated “updated” at the top.
Therefore, the story did change from the time that Linda first read it.
    My apologies Linda.

  10. Unlucky 7.

  11. Thank you sunnyside post. The only other smart person posting.

  12. OMG – Is THIS what people DO all day? – lol.

  13. I guess cameras would not have helped. However, that is a very isolated station and several years ago two “friends” (both underaged) who had been drinking illegally at a nearby bar, had a “disgreement” and one threw the other one onto the tracks at the 52nd Street station and yup, he was killed. What are friends for?

  14. The Doodieheads are a proud people. I knew a Doodiehead once, he was a real corny fella.

As for this guy jumping in front of a train. Why these people wanna ruin our commutes? can’t they find other more considerate ways of killing themselves? I’m trying to get home for a 4 day weekend !

  15. In all seriousness, this is such a sad story. I heard there were a lot of people crying at the scene – may the man rest in peace.

  16. this is a sad story… and a comment for Ruben…
in Japan, if you choose to commit suicide via jumping in front of a moving train, your family gets fined for inconveniencing the other passengers and delaying the tightly run system. Can you imagine this happening here???

  17. The suicide seven line runs over the boulevard of death

  18. I am dismayed by the discourse above re: the first post which was written prior to an update. “Can’t you read?” so many chimed in even though the person writing could clearly write so probably can read. A proper response might have been. “I’m confused, the article says … what makes you think….” instead of insulting the person.

I often wonder if some kind of regulated comment system here, not anonymous, would hold people accountable for how they present their discourse. I really wish it could be civilized and respectful.

  19. It’s sad enough that someone is in such an emotional abyss that they take their own life. It’s even more tragic that they would chose such a terrifying and painful way to die. Somebody in such a miserable state of mind probably isn’t thinking about your commute as inconsiderate as that may seem.

  20. Pray that none of you or your family are even in such a dark pit of despair as to take your own life in such a gruesome manner.

  21. What an awful story. I feel sorry for the man and his family. So many tragedies happen.

  22. @question mark man?
The 52nd st stop is actually on Roosevelt Avenue.

  23. Who cares where the exact location s? A man took his own life and it’s a tragedy for him, his family and his friends. It’s very sad to see someone doing that but they see no light at the end of the tunnell which s so sad. Stop all the nitpicking on this site it’s just so silly and if u want to do it then use your real name.
