Mr Wonton Chinese Restaurant shut by health dept.
Mr. Wonton Chinese Restaurant, located at 44-11 Queens Blvd, was shut down by the NYC Health Department on Tuesday,May 15.
The restaurant was cited for the following:
Sanitary Violations:
- Hot food item not held at or above 140º F.2
- Cold food item held above 41º F (smoked fish and reduced oxygen packaged foods above 38 ºF) except during necessary preparation.
- Live roaches present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
- Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.
The closure comes two years after the NYC Health Department shut it down for similar reasons in March, 2010.

Really Rick? Golden Wok has great chinese food compared to the rest of the junk in Sunnyside
People need to learn to accept the fact that most restaurants aren’t going to be spotless. Just cause there’s an A rating hanging on the door doesn’t mean they’re not breaking laws currently
Well this explains the intensive cleaning efforts I saw underway there the past couple of mornings.

99% of pizzeria’s are guilty of this.
Its a cheap ploy by Bloomie to f$$k us for our money since he GIVES AWAY hundreds of millions in “Tax Breaks” to his buddies.
BTW…”Tax Breaks” means they pay NO TAXES.

wow someone found a way to blame mayor when the local roach house had roaches, come on, have you ever seen how they prepare food in these places? It’s disgusting.
I always thought Mr. Wonton was the worst tasting Chinese place in Sunnyside…. I’m a fan of Golden Wok personally.
