Sabel Scities – also known as Timothy Byars, of Sunnyside, N.Y. – was named Miss’d America 2012 at the Atlantic City contest, according to an article written by the PressofAtlantic City. The event, hosted by Carson Kressley, drew contestants came from as far away as Florida, Kentucky and North Carolina.

There goes the neighborhood. Are there any normal people around anymore.
Note to the owner of Molly Blooms: you should try to be nice to some of the normal people who live in the area, you know, the people who actually spend money.
There’s too many god damned “normal” people around here. Way too many people in this neighborhood are completely boring, do nothing with their lives except go to work and breed, not stopping to enjoy the world around them or enrich their experiences for even one second. Black and white thinkers, hellbent on judging other people for being different.
I’d rather live in a neighborhood with 40,000 drag queens than share my streets with the likes of the above commenters.
What a bunch of small minded people..u should all move to the burbs or the bible belt.New York is for everybody!

Referring to yourself as “normal” in contrast to this individual or anyone in the GLBT community is insulting. What makes a person normal? I am proud lesbian who has lived in Sunnyside for many years. I am happy to report that I have always been welcomed with acceptance in our neighborhood. Sadly here there are a few individuals who feel the need to label themselves as the “normal” ones.
It is not a choice to be gay. It is a choice to be a bigot. Live and Let Live.

What dads favorite movie is “Brokeback Mountain?” Who’s looking at Sabel Scities outfit and wondering if he’ll fit into it? BTW I happen to be normal too.
Why doesn’t the Sunnyside Post write about Miss Barbara Hur who performs in Jackson Heights but lives in our neighborhood?
