Local Crime Stats vs. other precincts
New York City’s police force, in its fight against crime, has increasingly used a strategy known as “stop, question and frisk,” which allows officers to stop someone based on a reasonable suspicion of crime.
The following map discloses how many people in our precinct are stopped and frisked. It also discloses the rate of violent arrests per population. Readers will see that the rate of violent crime in our precinct is low.
Note: Woodside, Sunnyside & Long Island City is the make up of Precinct 108.
