  1. Great local place to hang out, eat, have a coffee. The owners are super nice and the food is good. I love that they don’t serve fries with sandwiches and give you a nice side of greens. A lot of places will charge you like $2 more if you replace your fries with greens but this place just doesn’t offer the fries and their prices are fair for their quality.

The only thing that keeps me from going more often is that I don’t eat meat and that means I don’t have that many choices because most of the non-meat things have cheese which I don’t eat either. There are tons of places I know of that have big selections of options for non-meat eaters so I’m not complaining just wish I could have a reason to go there more often.

  2. I am a part-time resident of Sunnyside. When I am there, I spend a lot of time at Cafe Aubergine. As Harry says, great place to hang out, a variety of interesting background music choices, not too loud. Really good quiche, great coffee, healthy salads, tempting sweets, neighborhood’s best bagels. Best of all– a welcoming community atmsophere and interesting crowd of local people–sometimes hosts poetry readings and other cultural events. I ‘m old enough to remember a time when Greewich Village had places like this. Definitely an enrichment of the Sunnyside scene!

  3. Living in Sunnyside close to 25 years, we were happy when Aubergines opened. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood run by a very nice couple. The service is great with two sisters, as well as others, who have worked there for a few years. Delicious lunches, desserts, and wonderful coffee to match. We go there on a regular basis to read, eat, and unwind. Our daughter Natalie prepared for college finals often there. This corner location with its delightful ambiance, simply has a great vibe. Warm memories come from warm places.
    Congratulations on a successful business!
    Sincerely,
    Bradley and Monica
